Letter From P.

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a special little project I did while living abroad. As some of you may know, I was living in Spain with my Fiancé this past year. I launched Studio P last year right before I left home base in Toronto to pursue life experiences and well, love of course! Studio P provided me with a platform to continue my passion in interior design all while being mobile.

While living in Spain, we travelled often, immersed ourselves in the culture, and made some life long friends along the way. One of these new friends had moved into a new space and needed some design advice for a little alcove area on the second level of his home. Although there was still somewhat of a language barrier between us, we were able to communicate (through broken English/Spanish) on how he wanted to be able to use the space so that it would be functional for him and his 10 year old son. I took some graph paper, drew out the space, brainstormed ideas with the client, and jotted down a ton of notes and measurements - the beauty of numbers is they’re the same in every language!

Taking this blank canvas and turning it into a nook for reading and studying was one of the most special little projects I have ever worked on – mostly because we were in a foreign place where I did not speak the language fluently, yet somehow the client and I were able to work together to create a beautiful little space. My new friend was beyond happy with the outcome, and the project in itself was simply poetic.
